GENERAL Job Description :

This positions' key responsibilities are:


Ensure seventy-five percent or more of the staff achieve their set targets, remedial or reward actions are completed on time and redundant positions are closed each year.
Ensure an optimized organizational structure, right people in the right positions, a pipeline of suitable candidates for positions in the expansion plans. Manage headcount costs and turnover targets.
Promote a forward-looking company culture, ethics and compliance, enforce agreed-on actions against violations at all levels consistently.
Manage key risk, high-potential, high-performance staff. Ensure less than five percent exits.


SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resource Manager is responsible and accountable for the following core job elements:


Develop business-aligned HR strategies, achieving annual objectives and targets.
Translate key data into an effective and commercially focused HR and people strategy, working with senior management and influencing them on the best course of action.
Lead on HR special projects, communicate and direct on strategy and implementation.
Direct organizational planning to optimize organization culture, job design, people development and staffing forecasting throughout the company.
Develop implement and evaluate Human Resources objectives, policies, codes, programs, documentation and procedures for the company regarding employee relations.
Develop HR budgets including training; on approval manage to achieve objectives and targets.
Develop and oversee the company compensation strategy and plan execution.
Develop and implement employee performance management, change management and reward programs.
Set up, develop and manage the Human Resources department.
Manage an optimized employee health, safety and wellbeing plan.
Lead and direct position establishments, recruitment or headhunting, exits and terminations.
Lead company-sponsored employee benefit programs such as medical schemes, pension plans.
Optimize HR recordkeeping by effectively using the Human Resources Information Software.
Lead company safety and health programs. Monitor and report statutory health and safety data.
Lead company HR compliance with all existing governmental laws and regulations.


EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:


An undergraduate degree in Human Resource or its equivalent from an accredited University. An MBA will be an added advantage.
Eight or more years of progressive HR generalist and some specialist experience with a track record of delivering measurable HR results. FMCG sector experience preferred.
A good understanding of and experience with labor laws and regulations.
CHRP certification required and must be an active member of IHRM Kenya.
Ability and evidence of managing people with respect to promote a caring attitude and continuous improvements. Evidence of continuous learning and execution of new practices needed.
A self-starter, team player, mature individual with outstanding strategic, analytical, numerate, creative skills, communication and presentation talents.
