Role Summary
The Human Resources & Operations Associate will play a critical role in strengthening R-DATS' internal systems, people operations, and organizational culture, while also supporting finance and business development processes. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong HR fundamentals with operational efficiency and business sense
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & People Operations
Support recruitment processes of staff and consultants (job postings, shortlisting, interviews, onboarding)
Maintain staff records, contracts, and HR documentation
Support performance management, appraisals, and staff development processes
Coordinate learning, training, and capacity-building initiatives
Promote a positive company culture and employee engagement initiatives and welbeing
Ensure compliance with internal HR policies and labor regulations
Operations & Administration
Support day-to-day office operations, maintenance and internal coordination
Improve internal processes, systems, and documentation
Support logistics for meetings, workshops, and field activities
Maintain vendor roster; negotiate rates
Coordinate travels (visas, tickets, accommodations)
Oversee network, coordinate vendors and resolve routine IT issues
Finance Support
Assist with payroll coordination and staff-related payments
Support invoice tracking, expense documentation, and basic financial records
Liaise with finance team or vendors as needed
Business Development Support
Maintain a database of consultants and staff CVs
Support administrative aspects of bids and partnerships
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field. Master's degree is a plus
Minimum of 3 - 4 years relevant experience in HR, operations, or administration
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, discretion, attention to detail and integrity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Strong business sense and understanding of how HR and operations support organizational growth
Experience working in consulting, research, or development organizations
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Interest in people development, organizational culture, and systems improvement
Familiarity with donor-funded or project-based environments is an advantage
Familiarity with Nigerian labor practices
HR certifications are an added advantage
