Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Import/Shipping Executive to manage end-to-end import documentation, shipping coordination, regulatory compliance, and banking processes.
The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of import/export procedures in Nigeria, including processing Form M, Letters of Credit (LC), SONCAP certification, and working with financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and shipping companies to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo clearance.
Job Responsibilities
Establish and process Form M and Letters of Credit (LC) with financial institutions and overseas suppliers.
Liaise with banks to ensure timely issuance and processing of Letters of Credit.
Coordinate with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and relevant regulatory agencies for smooth shipment handling.
Process SONCAP Certificates, permits, PAAR, and Form M documentation through the National Single Window Portal.
Monitor shipment schedules and ensure prompt follow-up to avoid delays in cargo clearance.
Identify and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate import-related costs such as shipment losses, damages, demurrage, port detention, and avoidable penalties.
Ensure full compliance with Nigerian import regulations and customs requirements.
Maintain accurate shipping and import documentation records.
Resolve shipment discrepancies and escalate critical issues where necessary.
Prepare import status reports and provide updates to management.
Job Requirements:
HND / B.Sc Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Shipping Management, or related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years cognate experience in import/export, shipping, or logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of Form M, LC processing, SONCAP, PAAR, and National Single Window Portal operations.
Excellent relationship management skills with banks, suppliers, shipping companies, and regulatory agencies.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shipping/logistics documentation systems.
