Roles & Responsibilities
Manages the movement of products/equipment/materials/spares in and/or out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local and international laws and processes.
Develops and implements import/export strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization.
Develops and implements policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
Manages the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost- effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
Manages and fosters good relationships with relevant government agencies to ensure prompt delivery of procured commodities.
Oversees the purchase of Insurance Certificates, processing of Form M, Risk
Assessment Report (RAR) and other relevant custom clearing documents.
Ensures shipping/customs clearing documents conform with requirements.
Communicates with export and import and related authorities, and customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
Anticipates, researches and reports on future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.
Ensures best quality service through establishment of import export documentation in full and on time.
Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.
Required Education/ Qualification
Minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping & Clearing, or related field
An MBA or relevant Masters degree will be an added advantage
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a similar role
At least 4 years managerial experience
