An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Industrial Refrigeration Technician to join a well-established engineering and maintenance team servicing industrial refrigeration plants across various industries.
PLEASE NOTE: Previous hands-on experience working with ammonia (NHÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ) refrigeration systems is ESSENTIAL. Applications without industrial ammonia refrigeration experience will unfortunately not be considered.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repair of industrial refrigeration systems operating in demanding industrial environments.
Minimum Requirements
Refrigeration Trade Test / Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic.
Valid driver's licence.
3 - 8 years' experience maintaining and servicing industrial refrigeration systems.
Proven experience working on ammonia (NHÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ) refrigeration plants is essential.
Experience with COÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ, glycol and HFC refrigeration systems.
Experience gained within industrial environments such as food processing, cold storage, manufacturing, pharmaceutical or processing plants.
Refrigeration plant installation and commissioning experience will be advantageous.
National Diploma or Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning would be advantageous.
Relevant refrigeration technical certifications are beneficial.
Duties & Responsibilities
Install industrial refrigeration equipment and associated piping systems.
Assist with the commissioning of refrigeration plants and equipment.
Perform pressure testing, leak testing, evacuation and refrigerant charging.
Carry out preventative and planned maintenance on refrigeration systems.
Inspect and service compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves and associated equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
Attend emergency breakdowns and service call-outs.
Monitor refrigeration plant performance and optimise system efficiency.
Record operating temperatures, pressures and performance data.
Complete accurate maintenance records and service reports.
Provide technical support and recommendations to customers.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations relating to industrial refrigeration and ammonia systems.

Screw and reciprocating compressors
Evaporators, condensers, pumps and valves
Heat exchangers and refrigeration controls
Reading P&IDs, engineering drawings and electrical schematics
Basic electrical fault-finding
Refrigeration testing and diagnostic equipment
