Position Overview


We are seeking a competent, innovative, and results-oriented Information Technology (IT) Officer to oversee and support the organization's ICT infrastructure, systems and digital operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning, security and maintenance of the organization's technology resources to support program implementation and operational excellence.


Duties & Responsibilities:


The IT Officer will; - Provide technical support to staff on computer hardware, software, network systems, and related ICT equipment.
Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, internet connectivity and communication systems.
Install, configure and troubleshoot computer systems, applications, printers and other peripheral devices.
Ensure the security, integrity and availability of organizational data through regular backups, antivirus protection and cybersecurity measures.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Manage user accounts, access rights, email systems and ICT asset inventories. Support the implementation and maintenance of organizational information systems, databases and cloud-based platforms.
Develop and enforce ICT policies, procedures and best practices. Coordinate ICT procurement processes and liaise with vendors and service providers. Conduct staff training and orientation on ICT systems, cybersecurity awareness and digital tools.
Prepare periodic ICT reports and provide recommendations to management on technology improvements. *
Support digital transformation initiatives and technology-driven projects within the organization.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational information security standards.


Qualifications and Experiences


Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field.
One year relevant experience in IT support, systems administration or network management, preferably within an NGO or development sector environment.
Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified
Reproductive Health RH Network Kenya Reproductive Health and Rights for All Professional (MCP), or equivalent will be an added advantage. Demonstrated experience managing networks, cloud services, cybersecurity and ICT support services. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, networking technologies and information security practices.
Experience with database management, backup systems and ICT asset management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
