Responsibilities
Design & Engineering:
Design and specify instrumentation systems for pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement.
Develop instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, and control system architectures.
Review and approve engineering drawings, P&IDs, and vendor documents.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISA, API).
Installation & Commissioning;
Supervise installation of field instruments and control systems.
Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Conduct loop checks, functional testing, and system validation.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation systems.
Troubleshoot faults in sensors, transmitters, control valves, and analyzers.
Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of instrumentation issues.
Control Systems & Automation:
Maintain and optimize Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA, and PLC systems.
Support automation and process optimization initiatives.
Implement control logic modifications and system upgrades where necessary.
Calibration & Testing;
Ensure accurate calibration of instruments in line with standards.
Maintain calibration records and certification.
Coordinate third-party calibration services where required.
HSE & Compliance;
Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with HSE standards and permit-to-work systems.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL (Safety Integrity Level), and risk assessments.
Ensure safety-critical instruments are maintained and tested as required.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and instrument registers.
Prepare maintenance reports, failure analysis reports, and performance summaries.
Update as-built drawings and system documentation.
Vendor & Contractor Management;
Interface with vendors for procurement, installation, and maintenance support.
Review vendor proposals and technical specifications.
Supervise contractors during project execution.
