Job Summary
The Internal Audit Officer is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the logistics company. The role ensures compliance with financial policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements while identifying areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and prevent fraud.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine internal audits of financial, operational, and administrative activities across the organisation.
Review logistics operations, including fleet management, dispatch operations, hub activities, and warehouse processes to ensure compliance with company policies.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
Examine financial records, revenue collections, expenses, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance costs for accuracy and compliance.
Monitor inventory management and asset utilisation within warehouses and operational hubs.
Identify potential risks, irregularities, or fraudulent activities and report findings to management.
Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting observations, risks, and recommended corrective actions.
Follow up on audit findings to ensure implementation of corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal procedures.
Participate in investigations relating to operational discrepancies or financial irregularities.
Review procurement processes, vendor payments, and contract compliance.
Support management in strengthening internal control systems and risk management frameworks.
