Job Summary
The Internal Auditor is responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to improve operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, safeguard assets, and ensure regulatory compliance across the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain.
The role focuses on revenue assurance, inventory integrity, outlet-level controls, fraud prevention, and governance compliance within a high-cash, high-volume retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan covering all outlets and head office functions.
Review daily sales reconciliation processes (POS, cash, card, and online settlements) to ensure revenue integrity.
Conduct periodic and surprise stock audits to validate inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
Evaluate compliance with operational SOPs, food safety standards, and internal control policies across outlets.
Assess procurement, receiving, storage, and supplier payment processes to ensure control effectiveness.
Investigate incidents of fraud, theft, revenue leakage, or policy violations and recommend corrective actions.
Review financial controls, including cash handling, bank reconciliations, and expense approvals.
Monitor compliance with tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
Prepare structured audit reports highlighting risks, root causes, and actionable recommendations.
Track implementation of audit findings and provide periodic updates to executive management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent preferred)
3 - 6 years' experience in internal audit, retail, FMCG, or QSR operations
Strong knowledge of POS systems and inventory management systems
Experience in auditing multi-branch retail operations is highly desirable.
