Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies)
Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or a relevant professional body;
Proficiency in computer applications.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing fraud investigation and anti-corruption policies, strategies, legislation, regulations, guidelines, frameworks, norms, standards, procedures, programmes and plans in accordance with auditing standards;
Collecting and collating data on financial records, systems and processes in the Agency;
Carrying out audit checks and identifying any accounting errors;
Undertaking spot-checks and cash surveys;
Undertaking audit investigations;
Developing scripts for mining and analyzing data for routine internal audit activities;
Undertaking audits on compliance of statutory provisions and internal regulations;
Assessing actual expenditure against budget allocations and reporting variances;
Carrying out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations in audit reports;
Identifying areas of risk in the department;
Implementing the department's charter;
Promoting Business Process Re-engineering (BPR); and
Implementing the business continuity plan for the department.
