I - BACKGROUND
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 28 associations and other offices together. Based in Geneva, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implementing international projects and initiatives as requested.
II - POSITION WITHIN ORGANISATION
The International Communications Support is hierarchically part of the International Editorial Unit within the Communications Department (IO Comms) of MSF International. The Communications Support will be based in Dubai. The IO Comms team manages several tools on behalf of the MSF movement, namely the global website, msf.org (which is bilingual English/Arabic), the International Activity Report, the international Media Database and digital channels, including accounts on X, WhatsApp and BlueSky.
The Editorial Unit is responsible for ensuring the timely publication of communication priorities and key public positioning on both the website and on social media channels, while maintaining the editorial line and language quality.
The Communications Support will report hierarchically to the Head of the International Editorial Unit, and functionally to the International Arabic Content and Social Media Editor. They will also take instructions from the International Content and Social Media Editor.
III - OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Communications Support will primarily support the tasks of the Editorial Unit, supporting the editing and posting of MSF priorities and key public positioning to MSF institutional social media accounts and website.
They will also support the work of the Department’s Digital Engagement Unit, AV Unit and the Comms & Knowledge Management Adviser.

V - SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Recent university graduate or working towards a degree in communications
Possess a keen eye for detail;
Demonstrable interest in communications, including digital communications;
Excellent written communication skills in English and Arabic is essential – ability to write for social media is an advantage;
Demonstrate knowledge of different social media platforms, and their format and audience differences
Computer literacy: experience using MS Office; experience with Asana and content management systems (especially Drupal) is an advantage
Strong organisational skills, punctual, reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently;
A flexible team member, ready to adapt to the needs of the team.
Genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian principles of MSF
In order to qualify for an internship position, the applicants should be prepared to provide documentary evidence that they are in one of the following situations:
Currently enrolled in a certifying training course;
Between certifying training courses (eg. Bachelor and Master) with the condition that the utility of the internship is certified by the training institution organising the second training.
Professional or social reinsertion according to federal or canton legal mechanisms.
Failure to do so will result in ineligibility for the position.
