Description
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
This role involves forecasting demand, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to reduce costs while maintaining product availability.
The Inventory Analyst collaborates closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to optimize stock levels in accordance with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Monitoring & Analysis:
Track inventory levels across warehouses and distribution centers.
Analyze stock movements, turnover rates, and demand patterns.
Identify discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
Forecasting & Planning:
Develop demand forecasts using historical data and market trends.
Recommend reorder points and safety stock levels.
Collaborate with procurement to align purchasing with demand.
Process Improvement:
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and obsolescence.
Suggest process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Support automation and digital tools for inventory management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with sales, operations, and finance teams to align inventory strategies.
Provide insights to support product launches and seasonal demand.
Prepare reports and dashboards for management decision-making.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
4 years + progressive experience in sales especially in FMCG, Telecoms, banking, luxury retail etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strategic thinker with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction.
Strong data interpretation and reporting skills.
