About the Opportunity
Nairobi Garage is currently seeking an Inventory Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for the following
Accounting Role
Assist in posting of Supplier Invoices in the Accounting software.
Checking of invoices against supplies or services offered and ensuring proper billing was done as per order.
Ensuring Kra Compliant tax invoices have been issued.
Checking and ensuring items supplied were received properly and necessary documents signed.
Maintain precise records of all stock transactions, including receipts, transfers, issues, and adjustments, within the company's Loyverse POS or Accounting system.
Track and follow with relevant departments to ensure supply invoices have been handed over to the accounting department for processing.
Assist in filing supplier documents.
Oversee and coordinate physical inventory counts, reconcile these counts with system balances to identify and investigate any discrepancies.
Ensuring Café's cash and stocks are accounted for and variances investigated and reported to management for action.
Stock Management
Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained and monitor stock levels.
Assist in setting reorder levels for stocks.
Prepare detailed inventory reports, including valuation, variance analysis.
Analyze inventory costs, identify variances, and monitor associated costs like transport costs to support financial decision-making.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and contribute to streamlining operations.
Assist with both internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory data and supporting documentation.
Review and process any necessary inventory adjustments and report on slow-moving or obsolete items.
Reconcile physical inventory against system balances and investigate variances. Ensure that stock movements are correctly and promptly recorded in the various systems.
Ensure accuracy in the inventory records and report any discrepancies to management.
Procurment
Assist in Sourcing, negotiating and Analyzing Information relating to items/services of interest from potential suppliers when required.
Maintaining a physical file and soft copy of the Supplier contracts.
Raising Purchase Orders and ensuring they are properly Approved.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Education:
CPA Qualifications. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is an added advantage
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in inventory accounting, Supplier Management , Procurement Knowledge and Skills.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with accounting software and inventory management systems.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records.
Communication & Organization:
Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with other departments.
