JOB PURPOSE


This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end IT sourcing, commercial contracting, and supplier governance within a fast-paced Group environment. The incumbent develops and executes category-level sourcing plans aligned to enterprise objectives, contributing informed input into broader procurement strategies. Working across multiple Business Units, the role delivers commercially sound, risk-managed sourcing outcomes across software, hardware, telecommunications, cloud, and IT services, with accountability for supplier risk management and effective Supplier Relationship Management
The role prepares and presents sourcing recommendations and commercial options to Executive Management and applicable Governance Forums. Operating within established procurement frameworks and governance standards, the role requires strong execution capability, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently with strong time-management discipline, while supporting the Group's Transformation agenda, including B-BBEE and Shared Value objectives.


Scope, Scale and Complexity


This role manages a diverse portfolio of IT sourcing, contracting, and supplier governance activities across software, hardware, telecommunications, cloud, and IT services. You will work across multiple business areas and stakeholder groups, handling a mix of routine and simple to complex sourcing and commercial matters, while balancing business needs, governance requirements, commercial value, and risk. The role requires strong execution capability, the ability to simplify complicated projects, and confidence in navigating cross-functional environments.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing and RFx Execution


Lead end-to-end IT sourcing across Telecommunications, Hardware, Software, Cloud, and IT Services.
Execute RFx processes to deliver fair, competitive, and audit-ready outcomes.
Design fit-for-purpose sourcing strategies informed by business needs, market intelligence, spend analysis, supplier capability, and risk.
Manage sourcing initiatives across varying levels of complexity, from routine requirements to high-risk strategic engagements.
Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, executable sourcing and contracting solutions.
Develop and implement category-level sourcing strategies aligned to enterprise priorities.
Apply holistic, systems-based analysis to assess enterprise-wide, financial, technological, and supplier ecosystem impacts.
Lead supplier engagement and commercial negotiations to secure value, manage risk, and protect Hollard's commercial interests.
Deliver measurable value through cost savings, total cost of ownership optimisation, improved commercial terms, and reduced supplier and contractual risk.
Prepare clear, data-driven recommendations for governance and approval forums, including senior management.
Ensure sourcing outcomes align with business objectives, technology strategy, and governance requirements.


Required Knowledge and Experience
Required Experience


7 - 10 years' relevant experience, with clear evidence of independently managing simple to complex IT sourcing projects, commercial contracting, and supplier governance.
Proven experience operating in enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, governance requirements, and cross-functional dependencies.
Demonstrated ability to manage low-, medium-, and complexity sourcing events, contracting, and supplier matters independently.
Experience engaging credibly with senior stakeholders and contributing to governance and executive decision-making forums.


Required Knowledge and Skills

Procurement & Commercial


Expertise in strategic sourcing, RFx execution, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management.
Practical experience across IT categories: Telecommunications, Hardware, Software, and IT Services (including Cloud).
Ability to critically review and assess contracts for commercial, operational, and regulatory risk.


Governance, Risk & Compliance


Solid understanding of procurement governance, compliance, audit requirements, and risk management.
Ability to produce audit-ready documentation and defensible sourcing decisions.


Supplier & Stakeholder Management


Hands-on SRM experience with key and strategic suppliers.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across technical and business functions.

Time Management & Prioritisation: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, prioritise effectively, and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Risk, Governance & Compliance Awareness: Strong understanding of procurement governance, delegated authority frameworks, and audit-ready documentation requirements.


Educational Requirements
Required Qualifications


Matric is compulsory.
A relevant degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field is compulsory.
