Job Summary


The IT Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's information technology infrastructure.
The role ensures optimal performance of hardware, software, networks, and security systems while providing technical support to staff to enhance operational efficiency and data security.


Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Helpdesk Management:


Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Respond promptly to IT service requests and ensure timely resolution.


Network Administration:


Manage and monitor LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Ensure network security and data integrity.
Perform routine network performance monitoring and optimization.


Systems Administration:


Install, configure, and update operating systems and enterprise software.
Manage user accounts, access rights, and permissions.
Perform regular system backups and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place.
Maintain servers (physical and cloud-based).


Cybersecurity & Data Protection:


Implement and enforce IT security policies.
Monitor systems for security breaches and vulnerabilities.
Ensure antivirus and security software are up to date.
Conduct periodic security risk assessments.


IT Infrastructure Management:


Oversee procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment.
Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
Ensure all IT assets are properly documented and tagged.


Software & Application Support:


Support enterprise applications and internal systems.
Coordinate with vendors for system upgrades and maintenance.
Provide user training on software applications where necessary.


IT Policy Compliance & Documentation:


Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with data protection and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems and configurations.


Project Support:


Assist in planning and executing IT-related projects.
Recommend technology upgrades to improve efficiency.
Support digital transformation initiatives.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified, Cisco CCNA) are an added advantage.
2 - 5 years of relevant IT experience.


Key Skills & Competencies:


Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity principles.
Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Good understanding of cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
