Xolo Energy Ltd is a growing energy and distribution company building a technology-enabled network of fuel stations and related businesses across Kenya and the wider East African region.
We are looking for a young, disciplined and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and take responsibility for the company's day-to-day accounting and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
Prepare bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Assist with cash-flow monitoring and budgeting.
Handle invoicing, receipts and payment documentation.
Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records.
Assist with eTIMS, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and other statutory requirements.
Monitor transactions across Xolo's business operations and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
Support preparation of financial information required by banks, suppliers and management.
Work closely with management to improve financial controls and reporting systems.
Assist with audits and other financial reviews when required.
Requirements
CPA qualification or CPA finalist is required.
At least 1 year of relevant accounting work experience.
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
Good understanding of Kenyan accounting and taxation requirements.
Strong Excel skills.
Experience with accounting software/ERP systems will be an advantage.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Experience in fuel, retail, logistics, distribution or multi-branch businesses will be an added advantage.
