Role Objective
We are seeking a Junior Accountant on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance and accounting function, ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded, properly documented, and processed in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the processing and recording of invoices, payments, petty cash, and other accounting transactions.
Review financial documents to ensure they are complete, accurate, and properly authorized before processing.
Support petty cash management, including documentation, reconciliation, and replenishment.
Assist with preparation of cash books, bank reconciliations, and other routine accounting schedules.
Support the preparation and submission of statutory deductions and other required payments.
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records and filing financial documents.
Support banking activities, including obtaining bank statements and handling approved banking transactions.
Assist with monitoring expenditure, budgets, and cash flow.
Prepare basic financial reports and schedules as required by management.
Ensure financial records and transactions comply with internal procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
Provide general accounting support to the finance team and undertake other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in a service-provider environment will be an added advantage.
Minimum CPA II or an equivalent professional qualification.
Good practical understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of budgeting, cash management, bank reconciliations, and financial record keeping.
