We are looking for a Junior Accountant - Tax & Compliance to join our Finance team in Nairobi.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with strong practical knowledge of Kenyan taxation, KRA compliance and day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting transactions.
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain general ledger records.
Support monthly and year-end closing activities.
Handle PAYE, VAT and Withholding Tax compliance activities.
Prepare and support submission of tax returns.
Maintain accurate KRA and tax documentation.
Monitor tax filing and payment deadlines.
Assist with KRA queries, reviews and audits.
Support inventory and financial reconciliations.
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Support the Finance Manager/Senior Accountant as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong practical knowledge of Kenyan taxation and KRA requirements.
Experience handling PAYE, VAT and Withholding Tax.
Familiarity with iTax and eTIMS.
CPA (K) or ongoing CPA studies is an advantage.
Good knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets.
Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or ERP systems.
Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to meet tax and accounting deadlines.
Manufacturing industry experience is an added advantage.

Candidates who are immediately available are preferred.
