About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and driven Junior AI Solutions Engineer to join our growing team in Nairobi. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to build hands-on experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement AI-powered solutions that address real business challenges. This role offers a strong learning environment with exposure to modern AI tools, frameworks, and real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models for business use cases
Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and dataset preparation
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into AI-driven solutions
Help build and maintain end-to-end AI pipelines, including model training, testing, and deployment
Integrate AI models into applications using APIs and microservices
Monitor model performance and contribute to optimization and improvements
Document processes, models, and workflows for internal use
Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies
Requirements
Education & Background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field
Strong academic foundation in mathematics, statistics, or data science is an advantage
Technical Skills
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python (preferred), R, or Java
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
Understanding of core ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, etc.)
Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
Exposure to APIs, data pipelines, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or project experience in AI, machine learning, or data science
Exposure to areas such as NLP, computer vision, or generative AI
Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT, Git, Docker, or basic MLOps practices
Participation in hackathons, open-source contributions, or research projects
