Job specification


Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications
Degree in Geology, Honors degree in Geology preferred.
1 - 3 years' experience in a mining geology environment (internship or graduate experience advantageous).
Basic understanding of orebody modelling and geological interpretation.
Computer literacy (MS packages with emphasis on Excel)
Proficiency in 3D modeling software will be advantageous (Leapfrog and Datamine)
Proficiency in ARCGIS will be advantageous
Experience in Database software use, such as MAXGEO (Datashed and Logchief)
Proficiency in CAD software but not limited to MineRPCAD and Microstation
Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
Must have a valid driver's license.

Medically fit to work in a mining environment.


Responsibilities:


Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and logging of drill core and chips.
Assist with geological modelling and interpretation of ore bodies.
Capture, verify, and manage geological data using geological software systems.
Support grade control activities to ensure accurate ore/waste delineation.
Assist with the planning and monitoring of drilling programmes.
Compile geological reports, plans, and sections for operational and management purposes.
Ensure compliance with mine standards, geological procedures, and statutory regulations.
Assist with reconciliation processes between geological models and production results.
Maintain geological databases and ensure data integrity.
Work closely with the Mining and Survey Departments to ensure alignment in operational planning.Build competencies through support, on-the-job coaching, and participation in their training and development requirements.
