KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching
Teaching undergraduate English Home Language in the BEd FP in both contact and distance modes of delivery.
Programme development
Development of English HL courses to remain relevant in the evolving educational environment.
Research and supervision
Research, postgraduate supervision, and appropriate publications in the field of ECDE with English Home Language as the focus. Furthering of own qualification on a doctoral level in English Home Language in ECDE.
WIL/Supervision
Work-integrated learning
CE
Community engagement.
Administration
Administrative tasks (including but not exclusive to using the NWU Learning Management System).
Minimum requirements
A professional teacher's qualification in FP or equivalent with evidence of English as a HL (NQF Level 6-8).
For Junior Lecturer: An honours degree in ECDE (or equivalent) with a focus on English HL in ECDE (NQF level 9) and studying towards a master's degree in ECDE (or equivalent) with a focus on English HL in ECDE (NQF level 9).
For Lecturer: A master's degree in ECDE (or equivalent) with a focus on English HL in ECDE (NQF level 9).
A minimum of two (2) years' teaching experience in an ECDE school environment with English as a HL.
Registrations with the South African Council for Educators.
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
A minimum of two (2) years' lecturing experience in a Higher Education environment on a full-time or part-time basis.
