About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic Junior Marketing Manager to support our busy marketing function across a wide range of day-to-day activities. From managing our social media channels and coordinating photoshoots to handling MultiChoice deliverables and music licensing admin, this role offers broad, hands-on exposure to the full marketing mix of a leading Afrikaans lifestyle channel.
Key Responsibilities
Digital & Social Media
Daily social media calendar management, post/story scheduling, and community management across all VIA platforms (target response time: <2 hrs)
Content creation for select VIA shows, depending on strategy
Community management for external clients
Social media boosting
Print & Advertising
Brief, plan, schedule, book, and check digital and print ads (newspapers: daily; weekly magazines: twice monthly; monthly magazines: once monthly)
Photoshoots & Creative Production
Plan and brief photoshoots, including photographer, MUA, and stylist coordination
Plan, brief, produce, and distribute key visuals and TV schedules
Write EPGs and taglines
Events & Festivals
Branding management, inventory, and coordination of VIA's presence at events and festivals
Plan and manage special events in collaboration with the commercial team
MultiChoice & DStv Deliverables
Create, check, and upload Catch Up documents
Provide the MultiChoice team with all required information and assets upon request
Monthly preparation and submission of metadata, EPGs, highlights, cherry picks, Nielsen schedules, and HPTO briefs for MultiChoice/DStv
Reporting & Analytics
Compile detailed analytical reports on show performance and audience insights (1 - 2 per month)
Compile monthly marketing report
Music Licensing & Rights
Monthly download, reconciliation, and upload of music licensing documentation via Recue and FileZilla
Distribution of as-run reports to SAMRO and CAPASSO
Scheduling & Planning
Communicate promo planning and changes to Contech
TV Guide distribution: coordinate and distribute programme schedules to print media partners
Ensure sponsorship requests are accommodated in media assets
Producer & Stakeholder Liaison
Ongoing liaison with production teams for marketing materials and Basecamp document updates
Create and distribute highlights to MultiChoice
Admin & Operations
Privacy champion — handle POPIA requests
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
1 - 3 years' experience in marketing or a related role
Fluent in Afrikaans (essential)
Based in Cape Town and available for on-site work Monday to Friday
Strong writing and copyediting skills in Afrikaans and English
Hands-on experience with social media management and content creation
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with social media scheduling and boosting tools
Knowledge of POPIA compliance requirements (advantageous)
Experience with music licensing platforms such as Recue and FileZilla (advantageous)

Able to manage multiple deadlines across a varied workload
Proactive, enthusiastic, and a collaborative team player
