Junior Mechanical Engineer
Our client, a well-established project management and engineering consulting company based in Centurion, is seeking a motivated and technically competent Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to gain exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects within the EPCM and mining sectors.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
3+ years' post-graduate experience in a construction, EPCM, engineering consulting or mining environment.
Experience working on industrial, mining or infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, engineering design and relevant South African standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or similar engineering software will be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist with the design and development of mechanical engineering solutions for various projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
Produce and review mechanical drawings and technical designs.
Support senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through to commissioning.
Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Assist with equipment selection and mechanical system design.
Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, company procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Assist with procurement activities, technical evaluations, and project scheduling.
Identify engineering risks and propose practical technical solutions.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and project records.
