Job Description
Organize and perform diagnostic pathological tests, analysis of water, plant, and media samples.
To organize water, plant and media sampling for external laboratory analysis.
Organize and perform routine laboratory tests on plant and seed samples to screen for seed transmittable diseases.
Manage laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and phytosanitary documentation for traceability and compliance, including GSPP standards.
To organize external and perform calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Monitor the efficacy of disinfectants and ensure adherence to phytosanitary requirements to control pests and diseases.
Organize and evaluate the team to measure performance and identify areas of improvement.
Train semi-skilled workers on phytosanitary standards and requirement and organize proficiency tests in liaison with Production Leads to ensure compliance.
Ensure cost efficiency and effectiveness through proper management of laboratory consumables.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures, test results, and experimental data for future reference and regulatory compliance.
Ensuring adherence to Phytosanitary requirements in production to control pests and diseases.
Responsible for maintaining GSPP standards by ensuring the necessary records are updated and compliant.
Participate in regular quality control checks and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Enforcing Syngenta HSE policy in all business operations.
Any other tasks & projects may be allocated from time to time by the line manager.
Qualifications
Diploma in applied biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field.
Bachelor's degree preferred will be an added advantage.
3-4 years of experience in laboratory testing and analysis.
Proficiency with laboratory equipment and materials.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
