Educational Qualification
HND/B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engineering, Physics Electronics, Metrology or any related Engineering discipline.
Experience
0 - 2 years of relevant laboratory, instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical experience.
Technical Knowledge
The candidate shall possess knowledge of:
Calibration of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pressure, temperature, and dimensional instruments.
Use of calibration standards and reference equipment. Measurement techniques and uncertainty concepts.
Instrument troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
Reading engineering drawings, datasheets, manuals, and specifications.
Data recording, calculations, and interpretation of calibration results.
Skills and Competencies

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in the calibration and verification of measuring instruments according to approved procedures and standards.
Perform routine calibration of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, thermometers, weighing scales, electrical meters, multimeters, and other test equipment under supervision.
Prepare and set up calibration equipment, reference standards, and instruments before calibration activities.
Record calibration results accurately in calibration worksheets, equipment records, and laboratory databases.
Assist in determining measurement errors, deviations, repeatability, and accuracy of instruments.
Support the preparation and issuance of calibration certificates and reports.
Ensure calibration standards and reference equipment are within their valid calibration periods and properly identified.
Perform basic maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Maintain proper identification, labeling, storage, and handling of measuring equipment.
Assist with measurement uncertainty calculations and other basic metrological evaluations.
Follow laboratory SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Participate in internal quality control checks, proficiency testing, and inter-laboratory comparisons where required.
Report any out-of-tolerance conditions, equipment damage, or abnormal calibration results to the supervisor.
Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled laboratory working environment.
Assist with the traceability of measurements to national or international measurement standards.
Maintain accurate records of equipment history, calibration status, and maintenance activities.
Support senior metrologists during on-site calibration and verification activities.
Assist in preparing calibration equipment for field work, mobilization, and demobilization.
Continue developing technical knowledge in metrology, calibration techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory quality management.
