Education, Skills and Experience
Must have:
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized Academic Institution.
At least two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
Must be registered by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board.
Key responsibilities also include
Reporting to: Deputy Director, Academic & Research Affairs
Duties and responsibilities:
Preparing laboratories, equipment, apparatus, reagents and other materials for practical classes, demonstrations, examinations and research activities.
Providing technical support to lecturers and students during practical sessions and demonstrating the proper use and handling of laboratory equipment.
Setting up and conducting practical experiments in accordance with approved procedures and laboratory manuals.
Operating, maintaining, calibrating and carrying out routine checks on laboratory equipment and reporting faults for repair and servicing.
Preparing, labelling, storing and handling chemicals, reagents, specimens, samples and other laboratory materials.
Maintaining adequate stocks and accurate records of laboratory equipment, chemicals, reagents, consumables and other supplies.
Providing technical support to academic staff, postgraduate students and researchers undertaking laboratory-based teaching and research activities.
Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety, health and environmental requirements, including proper use of protective equipment and safe disposal of laboratory waste.
Maintaining laboratory cleanliness, orderliness and proper organisation, and ensuring that facilities are ready for use.
Maintaining laboratory records, including equipment usage, maintenance, calibration, practical sessions, experiments and research activities.
Supporting laboratory inspections, audits and quality assurance activities.
Performing any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
