JOB SUMMARY
Language Services provides the mechanism to engage all citizens through the translation of Parliamentary documents, interpreting services to the Houses during plenaries, Committee proceedings, public hearings, oversight visits, and a record of parliamentary debates through Hansard reporting for the Houses of Parliament.
Language Services contributes to the strategic goal of meaningful involvement and participation by citizens and all interest groups by ensuring the availability of all official languages during parliamentary proceedings, public hearings, oversight visits and the public consultation process. This includes feedback mechanisms for engagement with the public and interest groups, particularly the marginalised and vulnerable groups.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional Hansard reporting, editing, interpreting, terminology development and translation services to Parliament.
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:
Applicants should have Grade 12 or NQF Level 4, plus a 3-year bachelor's degree or a 3-year National Diploma with a major in the relevant language, or a National Diploma in Language Practice (with relevant majors), and 2 years of relevant experience.
