Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced, disciplined, and result-oriented Layer Poultry Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of a commercial layer poultry farm.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal bird health, egg production efficiency, staff supervision, biosecurity compliance, feed management, record keeping, and overall farm profitability.


Key Responsibilities
Farm Operations Management:


Oversee the daily management of layer birds from point of lay to end of production.
Ensure proper feeding, watering, vaccination, medication, and general bird welfare.
Monitor egg production performance and implement strategies to improve productivity.
Supervise egg collection, sorting, storage, and dispatch processes.
Ensure proper waste management and farm sanitation.


Staff Supervision:


Supervise poultry attendants, cleaners, security personnel, and other farm workers.
Create staff work schedules and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Train and monitor workers on farm procedures and biosecurity practices.
Maintain discipline and productivity among farm staff.


Biosecurity & Bird Health:


Enforce strict biosecurity measures across the farm.
Monitor birds for signs of disease or stress and report issues promptly.
Ensure vaccination and medication schedules are properly followed.


Inventory & Resource Management:


Monitor feed consumption and reduce wastage.
Keep accurate records of feed, medications, vaccines, eggs, mortality, and farm supplies.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of farm equipment and facilities.


Record Keeping & Reporting:


Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly farm records.
Prepare operational reports including:
Egg production reports
Mortality reports
Feed consumption reports
Staff attendance reports
Operational observations
Analyze farm performance and provide recommendations for improvement.


Security & Compliance:


Ensure farm safety and security procedures are followed.
Monitor visitors and maintain restricted access protocols.
Ensure compliance with company policies and poultry industry best practices.


Requirements
Educational Qualification and Experience:


HND/B.Sc. in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 2 - 3years practical experience managing a commercial layer poultry farm.
Strong understanding of layer management, egg production systems, and poultry health management.

Strong leadership and staff management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High level of honesty, accountability, and attention to detail.
