Duties
Conduct research, publish findings, and mentor students to meet University goals;
Create innovative research proposals to secure funding and elevate student research opportunities;
Produce scholarly publications to enhance professional growth and University research ranking;
Advocate for innovative teaching methods both locally and globally;
Lead research projects addressing community challenges and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration;
Secure research funding and provide high-quality supervision for students;
Design and implement curriculum for industry-ready graduates;
Organize practical learning experiences and supervise Teaching Assistants;
Set and moderate examinations to ensure quality academic standards;
Provide individualized support to improve student performance and address their needs;
Engage students in critical thinking and meaningful discourse;
Undertake consultancies and showcase innovations to enhance the University's reputation;
Establish collaborative partnerships for resource mobilization and community engagement;
Present research findings internationally and contribute to societal development through volunteerism;
Contribute to University management, administrative processes, and student well-being.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:
Must Have
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited university recognized by the OUK Senate;
Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years, three (3) of which in the Grade of Tutorial Fellow/ Junior Research Fellow in the relevant field;
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers and;
Registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
In-depth professional/discipline-specific knowledge and experience in a specialized field or broad knowledge in a number of fields.
