Requirements :
A Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate. A Basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur.
A post-basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC. Post Basic Diploma in Medical and Surgical: Operating Theatre Nursing Science (R.212) registered with SANC or Postgraduate Diploma in Peri-Operative Nursing (R.635) registered with SANC.
A Master's degree in nursing (Applicants who are in the data analysis stage of the research may be considered) or a master's degree in health-related field or Health care studies such as Public Health may be acceptable if the candidate also holds the required nursing specialty qualification. Proof of current registration with SANC. A certificate in Assessor and Moderator will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy/ certificate (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A valid driver's license. Good communication, report writing, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
PND I: A minimum of four (04) years' appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur with SANC.
PND II: A minimum of fourteen (14) years' appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur with SANC. Ten (10) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate and recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining the one (01) year.
Duties :
Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of student nurses in both clinical and theory. Guide and support student nurses effectively. Support vision and mission of the college through participation in meetings, committees and college activities.
Promote the image of the college. Implement assessment strategies to determine students' competency.
Participate in scholarly research and community engagement activities at the college. Develop, review, and evaluate curricula. Exercise control over student nurses
