Role Overview:
The Legal Assistant provides structured, process-driven support to a law firm's property and transactional legal teams. This is an accuracy-critical role centred on document preparation, research, and case file management within a template-led environment.
The role is designed for professionals who prefer methodical, consistent, and detail-focused work rather than advocacy, litigation, or advisory practice.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare legal documents using standard templates and approved wording
Conduct structured property and transactional legal research
Draft formal, client-facing correspondence
Maintain and organise digital case files and documentation systems
Review legal documents for accuracy, formatting, and completeness
Follow established workflows, procedures, and checklists precisely
Support transactional processes through administrative and documentation tasks
Role Scope:
This position does not include:
Courtroom advocacy or litigation work
Legal strategy development
Creative or advisory drafting
Client acquisition responsibilities
Fee-earning or case ownership
Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
LLB or equivalent law degree
Minimum of 1 year experience in a law firm or formal legal environment
Strong written English suitable for professional correspondence
Ability to work consistently within standard business hours (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Demonstrated attention to detail
Comfort working in a structured, template-led environment
Reliable internet connection and suitable computer equipment for Windows remote desktop
Advantageous Experience:
Exposure to property or transactional law (any jurisdiction)
Called to Bar or qualified in a Commonwealth jurisdiction
Experience supporting document-heavy legal workflows
