We are seeking a competent, detail-Oriented, and commercially minded legal officer to join our team


Key Responsibilities


Assisting in the preparation, rendition, and filing of the Annual Report & Accounts to meet legal requirements (CAC, SEC & NGX)
Filing annual returns and audited accounts in collaboration with the company secretary.
Organizing and planning board meetings and the annual general meeting, ensuring all stakeholders are adequately represented.
Drafting, executing, and perfecting legal documents, including contracts, leases, NDAs, and client correspondence
Liaising with the GMD & Chairman to ensure timely and compliant business conduct.
Maintaining and organizing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Recording and maintaining minutes for in-house meetings.
Managing and safeguarding the Company's Seal and Register of Sealed documents.
Conducting research and analysis to assist executives in decision-making processes.
Acting as a primary point of contact for executives internally and externally.
Communicating with clients, vendors, and external parties on behalf of executives.
Implementing and maintaining office policies and procedures while ensuring confidentiality.
Liaising with external solicitors on debt recovery cases.
Drafting legal agreements such as NDAs, MOUs, SLAs, brokerage agreements, and noncircumvention agreements.
Assisting in capital and debt-raising transactions by reviewing fundraising term sheets, underwriting agreements, and vending agreements.
Facilitating brokerage transactions between the company and foreign external parties.
Assisting in the registration of securities like NDR with the SEC.
Organizing and maintaining filing systems, both physical and electronic.
Handling correspondence, including drafting and proofreading emails, letters, and other documents.
Gathering, compiling, and analyzing information to assist executives in decision-making processes.
Communicating with stakeholders and ensuring the timely completion of tasks. Serving as a primary point of contact for executives, both internally and externally.
Communicating with clients, vendors, and other external parties on behalf of the executive.
Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of office policies and procedures.


Requirements


LL.B from a recognized university.
BL qualification and admission to the Nigerian Bar.
Minimum of 2 - 4 years' relevant post-call experience, preferably within a corporate, financial services, investment, banking, or related environment.
Good knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory law.
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Excellent legal research, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant productivity tools.
