Organising and managing the Library, ensuring effective use by classes, groups, and individuals.
Creating and implementing a library policy aligned with the school's educational aims and legal requirements.
Managing the Library budget, including preparation and reporting.
Selecting, acquiring, organising, and promoting resources and IT to support teaching and learning.
Ensuring equality of access for all pupils and staff to high-quality learning resources.
Supervising pupils using the Library for independent study and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Running a homework club in the afternoons as part of the extramural offering.
Supporting and advising staff and pupils in the selection and use of information resources.
Promoting reading and the enjoyment of reading in all its forms.
Mentoring interns through the Internship programme.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Minimum requirement: B.Ed or PGCE.
Advantageous: Previous experience as a Media Specialist.
Must be fully SACE registered.
Computer skills and experience working with databases are essential.
Ability to coach extra-mural activities.
Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
