ActionAid Zimbabwe (AAZ) is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that collaborates with various stakeholders to support sustainable development, amplify the voices of marginalized communities, and challenge systemic inequalities. Since its establishment in 2003, AAZ has been dedicated to addressing the root causes of poverty and social injustice while promoting gender equality. The organization upholds strong child protection policies and measures against sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse. AAZ also adopts an intersectional feminist approach to safeguarding, acknowledging the interconnectedness of various forms of abuse and oppression that impact vulnerable groups. Globally, ActionAid operates in over 40 countries.
AAZ seeks to recruit for the following Internship position for a fixed 9 months period – April – December 2025:
Local Rights Programme & Sponsorship Graduate Intern (Climate Justice)-Rusape
The position shall function collaboratively as a member of the Programs team and will be required to play a significant role in providing sponsorship, programmatic and administrative support in the Local Rights Programs. The intern will assist the Climate Justice thematic lead in program development, provide monitoring, evaluation and learning strategic oversight in climate justice programme. The position holder will assist with capacity building of communities in lobby, advocacy, and budget tracking on climate change, resilience and livelihoods.
Requirements
• The candidate should be a recent graduate with a degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, Environmental studies, Social Sciences, Development studies, Rural Development agriculture or related discipline from a recognized institute.
• Experience in networking and building relationships across different strata of society.
• Commitment to Climate Justice, resilience and livelihoods.
• Building collaborative relationships and achieving quality results and services.
• Ability and preparedness to travel and work in difficult conditions and comfortable working with children.
• Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines.
