Responsibilities
Dispense medications and monitor patient health outcomes and progress to maximize treatment outcomes.
Provide accurate drug information on the use of medication and their side effects in response to patient enquiries as well as user departments.
Receive and accurately process prescriptions to both inpatients and outpatients.
Prepare, constitute and label extemporaneous preparations as required
Maintain pharmacy operational requirements-records of controlled drugs as well as proper inventory control
Participate in stock takes and inventory management exercises
Participate in ward rounds and patient education activities
Counsel patients on medication use and adherence
Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
Must be enrolled/registered as a pharmaceutical technologist by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Valid practicing licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
Proficiency in Ms Office tools (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
