Purpose of the Job
Prepare, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and document training activities in the training centre.
Work closely with the Maintenance teams across the cement plants in Nigeria to reinforce on-the-job training and individual development.
Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout the course lifecycle.
Manage the training programme in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements and the Quality Management System.
Assess and deploy training needs for new and existing employees within the Company's Maintenance function for cement plants in Nigeria.
Identify and deploy internal and external training programmes to address competency gaps.
Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs.
Develop a safe working culture across all Training Centres in the country and ensure this is driven consistently.
Role Responsibilities
Organize, develop or source training programmes to meet specific training needs.
Liaise with Subject Matter Experts and CIP regarding instructional design.
Develop training aids such as manuals, handbooks and models.
Inform frontline managers about available training options.
Map out training plans for all Maintenance functions.
Present training programmes using recognised training techniques and tools.
Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods, including classroom instruction, virtual training and on-the-job coaching.
Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
Track and report training outcomes and circulate findings to the Head of Industrial Learning & Development and relevant stakeholders.
Provide feedback to programme participants and Plant Management.
Evaluate and make recommendations on training materials and methodologies.
Manage and maintain employee training records.
Coordinate logistics for training activities, including venues and equipment.
Establish and maintain relationships with external training providers.
Coordinate off-site training activities for employees.
Work closely with the Head of iL&D to manage the training budget.
Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
Keep up to date with developments in training design and methodology.
Work with Plant teams and coaches to prepare candidates for qualification and certification processes for Maintenance functions.
Demonstrate a strong commitment and drive towards the development of the Maintenance Workshop.
Requirements
Critical Knowledge
Good knowledge of HBM Nigeria PLC Safety Standards, Advisories and Procedures.
Good knowledge of business processes.
Expert coaching and facilitation skills.
Good knowledge of applicable safety laws and regulations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Educational Qualification
Graduate-level qualification in Engineering, Science or Social Sciences.
IT competency is required.
Critical Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience.
Technical Competencies
Good knowledge of the cement manufacturing process.
Good communication skills.
Ability to understand and use training tools such as CECIL, SIMULEX, and Produce & Maintain.
