Main Objectives
To provide cost and management accounting support to the Finance Division and the University to enable and enhance financial control and decision-making by management, through the development of budgets and forecasts, preparation and analysis of management accounts, costing activities and benchmarking, and engagement with stakeholders.
The Requirements
A relevant B. Degree or Diploma (NQF 7) in Accounting, Auditing, or Financial Management PLUS approximately 6 years of experience in financial and management accounting, where such experience includes: -
Budget preparation and variance analysis, including reporting and investigations.
Developing product/service/departmental costs within a costing/cost accounting framework.
Applying financial and cost accounting principles in the development and control of costs.
Advanced computer literacy, especially in MS Excel, and experience with ERP systems.
At least 3 years of experience working with and maintaining the general ledger structure.
At least 3 years of Supervisory or Management of staff.
Experience in a Higher Education environment will be an advantage.
