Role Purpose


The Manager - DevOps is responsible for implementing and continuously improving DevOps capabilities across the Group by driving automation, cloud infrastructure management, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), platform reliability, and operational resilience. The role works closely with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture teams to streamline software delivery, strengthen operational efficiency, improve system availability, and embed secure and scalable engineering practices that support Jubilee's digital transformation agenda.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy


Implement the Group DevOps strategy in alignment with Jubilee's technology roadmap, digital transformation agenda, and business objectives.
Drive the adoption of DevOps principles, automation, and continuous delivery practices to improve software quality, operational efficiency, and release frequency.
Identify opportunities to optimise deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and engineering processes through automation and modern DevOps technologies.
Collaborate with Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and business stakeholders to align DevOps capabilities with business and technology requirements.
Evaluate emerging DevOps technologies, cloud services, and engineering best practices, recommending solutions that improve scalability, resilience, and operational performance.


Operational


Coordinate DevOps operations across development, infrastructure, and cloud environments to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise applications and digital platforms.
Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support efficient software delivery and release management.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using industry-standard automation tools to deliver consistent, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
Administer and optimise cloud infrastructure and platform services to improve availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve platform and application issues.
Integrate DevSecOps practices into software delivery pipelines by implementing automated security testing, vulnerability management, and compliance validation throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, and Information Security teams to improve application deployment processes, environment consistency, and platform reliability.
Support disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high availability initiatives for critical technology platforms.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve technical documentation, operational procedures, deployment standards, and infrastructure configurations.
Monitor DevOps performance metrics, deployment success rates, platform availability, incident trends, and operational KPIs, providing recommendations to improve service delivery.
Support the evaluation, implementation, and optimisation of DevOps tools, cloud services, and automation platforms to strengthen technology capabilities.
Provide technical support for complex deployment, infrastructure, and automation issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.


Corporate Governance


Ensure DevOps processes comply with Jubilee's technology governance framework, cybersecurity standards, information security policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Implement governance controls across CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, source code repositories, configuration management, and deployment processes.
Support internal and external technology audits by maintaining accurate operational documentation, audit trails, and evidence of compliance.
Identify operational, infrastructure, and technology risks within DevOps environments and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Promote secure software delivery practices through adherence to cybersecurity, data protection, business continuity, and operational resilience standards.


People and Culture


Foster strong collaboration between Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Quality Assurance teams to support efficient technology delivery.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, knowledge sharing, and automation across technology teams.
Champion Agile, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and engineering best practices to improve organisational capability.
Demonstrate Jubilee's values through professionalism, accountability, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and integrity.
Support continuous learning by encouraging adoption of emerging technologies, automation tools, and modern engineering practices.


Leadership


Lead the implementation and operationalisation of DevOps practices across technology initiatives, providing technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams.
Coordinate DevOps activities across Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture teams to ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives.
Mentor developers and technical teams on DevOps principles, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, cloud technologies, and automation best practices.
Support the Senior Manager - DevOps in implementing engineering standards, operational improvements, and technology governance initiatives across the Group.
Drive change management initiatives that encourage adoption of DevOps methodologies, automation, and continuous improvement across the technology function.

Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field from a recognised institution.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Software Engineering.
Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Terraform Associate, or equivalent are an added advantage.
ITIL Foundation, Agile, Scrum, or cloud platform certifications are desirable.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native deployment solutions.
Hands-on experience administering cloud platforms, automation frameworks, and container orchestration technologies.
Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps environments supporting enterprise applications.
Experience implementing monitoring, observability, security, and operational resilience solutions.
