Requirements :


Grade12/Matric Certificate. Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of government notice 425, i.e. Diploma\ Degree in nursing as a professional nurse.
Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic Diploma in Primary Health Care with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in Primary Health Care.
A minimum of 10 years appropriate \ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with the south African nursing council in general nursing.
At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate\ recognizable experience in management level as assistant manager. A qualification in Health Services Management / Nursing Administration from a recognized institution will be an added advantage. Strong leadership, good communication and sound interpersonal skills are necessary.
Good communication & interpersonal skills. Time management skills, Knowledge of relevant legislations and related legal and ethical practices, PFMA and Public Service Act and regulations. Computer literate. A valid driver's license


Duties :


Support service delivery in the district hospital, community health centres (CHC) and PHC clinics in all aspects related to PHC nursing. Promote clinical effectiveness in all facilities through outreach programmes and the development, dissemination and implementation of clinical protocols, standard treatment guidelines aligned with national norms and standard.
Facilitate, participate and support the development, training, and mentorship of healthcare professionals in all facilities within the district, particularly nurses, allied health professionals, and community health workers.
Support the District Management Team (DMT) to establish and maintain system for health surveillance, health information, communication and patient referral guidelines. Support the DMT to ensure appropriate infrastructure, equipment, and sundries are available for the provision of quality PHC nursing care. Assist the DMT with strategic and operational planning of services.
Support the supervision of PHC nursing services including recruitment and management. Support, and participate in risk management for patients, practitioners and the district health services, including conducting clinical audit and quality improvement cycles.
Implement effective monitoring and evaluation processes for services, including effective use of data and appropriate reporting. Foster effective teamwork and collaboration within the DCST, with other professionals in the district and with local communities and their structures.
