In this role you will be responsible for:


Leading the smelter operational strategy implementation, including the development and execution of operational plans, targets and performance initiatives
Overseeing the Production, Engineering, Services, Logistics and Support functions to ensure achievement of production targets, plant availability and operational continuity
Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation, cost reduction and operational efficiency programmes
Leading the design, development and implementation of capital projects, shutdown planning and plant improvement initiatives
Ensuring full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, HSEQC and company governance requirements
Acting as the plant's Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Community (HSEQC) lead representative
Managing operational budgets, capital expenditure and resource utilisation to ensure financial discipline and value delivery
Ensuring the effective management of raw materials, spares, consumables and infrastructure to support uninterrupted operations
Leading and developing the plant management team, driving accountability, performance and talent development
Supporting business strategy through strong stakeholder engagement and leadership across operational functions


About you:


Relevant Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy/Chemistry, or related technical field (NQF 7)
GCC Factories will be advantageous
Leadership/Management Development programs will be an advantage
Minimum 10 years' experience in heavy industry / ferro-alloys environment
At least 3-5 years' experience in a senior management role
Extensive experience in furnace, smelting, sintering / pelletising operations
Strong knowledge of maintenance system and experience in shutdown planning and project management
Strong knowledge of and experience in complex and large project management and coordination
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary operational teams
Sound understanding of financial management, budgeting and capital governance
Strong knowledge of HSEC systems and legislative compliance requirements including OHSAct
Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership capability and change management experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
High levels of initiative, energy and independent analytical thinking
