Summary


The Key Purpose for this role is to lead the successful execution of parts design & production in the Gateway ZEC center, through the management of the necessary processes, quality parameters, resources & equipment.


Key Outputs and Responsibilities


Ensuring product designs meet required safety standards.
Establish & maintain high standards of safety & 5s in a workshop environment.
Measure & Scan existing parts & components to produce concept designs.
Present rough/concept design drafts for client approval.
Generate Solid and Surface CAD models using AutoCAD Inventor software.
Finalize AutoCAD models, produce drawings & G-code for the manufacture of working parts.
Present various design perspectives for manufacturing improvements & adaptations.
Participate in Root cause and component failure analysis.
Experience in improving workshop asset effectiveness.
Enable rapid prototyping through 3D Scanning and Printing.
Implement proper workflow systems to streamline production output.
Proven capability of implementing high density work-holding techniques.
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling & turning.
Lead & supervise workshop personnel to achieve performance targets/KPI's.
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements.
Drive cost savings initiatives in a workshop environment by reducing waste & prolonging tool life.
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.


Minimum Requirements


Suitable Qualification in Mechanical Engineering Design
A minimum of 5 years design & fabrication experience.
Prior Engineering workshop experience, operating CNC machinery.
Experience in using CAD/CAM software, Autodesk Inventor preferred
A superior performance track record
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage complex projects of a significant number
High level of resilience and ability to operate in a high-pressure environment.
