Job Description

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand growth across AutoXpress. The role supports the Head of Retail - Engagement/Chief Commercial Officer in delivering integrated marketing strategies while ensuring the timely execution of campaigns, digital marketing, branch activations, and partner brand promotions in line with AutoXpress' business objectives.

An overview of the duties and responsibilities of the role are outlined as below:

Marketing & Campaigns


Support the development and execution of annual marketing plans
Develop a yearly budget for the marketing team
Execute campaigns across digital, print, in-store, PR, and events, ensuring full alignment with AutoXpress brand and partner guidelines.
Coordinate promotions and launches for products and services, working closely with retail and corporate sales teams.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of campaigns, providing actionable insights for improvement.


Digital & Social Media


Oversee content planning and engagement as per the marketing calendar.
Ensure tracking of all marketing KPIs.
Oversee and provide input in the creation of artwork, photos, videos, and layouts for advertising, broadcast, in-store, and web communications.
Support the marketing analyst to ensure marketing outputs adhere to budget, timelines, and brand standards.
Achieve consistent, high-quality creative output.


Branch & Local Marketing


Develop and implement localized branch marketing initiatives in collaboration with branch managers and retail teams.
Provide marketing toolkits, materials, and support for local activations, customer events, and sponsorships.


Brand & Partner Management


Ensure consistent application of AutoXpress brand identity across all marketing materials.
Liaise with partner brands (tyres, oils, batteries, accessories) to execute co-branded campaigns in line with supplier agreements.
Maintain up-to-date records of brand manuals and ensure compliance.


Creative & Content Support


Manage and support creatives to deliver marketing collaterals (campaign artwork for billboards and digital screens, brochures, flyers, videos, POS displays).
Ensure timely production and distribution of promotional materials to branches.
Contribute ideas for innovative campaigns and creative storytelling.


Reporting & Administration


Track marketing spend against budget and highlight variances.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on marketing performance, customer engagement, and ROI.
Maintain a database of campaigns, creative assets, and suppliers.


Leadership & People Management


Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team to achieve departmental goals.
Align team activities with the company's marketing objectives and performance standards.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (suppliers, agencies, and media).


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
5 - 7 years' experience in marketing roles, preferably in retail, automotive, FMCG, or service industries.
Proven ability to manage campaigns end-to-end and deliver measurable results and able to manage multiple projects at once.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in the utilisation of digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and content management.
Experience managing partnerships and cross-functional teams.
Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions.
Preferably a Kenyan citizen or Kenyan resident.
