Key Duties & Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance for all garment machines.
Diagnose and repair faults on sewing, cutting, embroidery, and finishing machines.
Replace worn-out parts, perform adjustments, and calibrate machines for optimal performance.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs.
Installation & Setup
Install and align new garment machinery, ensuring proper mechanical and electrical connections.
Adjust settings based on fabric type, operation, and production needs (e.g., overlock, flatlock, lockstitch, buttonhole, bar-tack, etc.).
Troubleshooting & Breakdown Management
Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Record all repairs, parts usage, and service history.
Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements for outdated machines.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance work adheres to occupational health and safety standards.
Support compliance with WRAP and other audit standards.
Immediately report unsafe equipment or practices.
Coordination & Support
Collaborate closely with line supervisors and production teams to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
Provide guidance to operators on machine handling and basic care.
Qualifications & Experience
Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in maintaining industrial garment machines.
Knowledge of sewing, cutting, boiler, compressor, and ironing equipment is an added advantage.
