Job Description
The M&P Engineer provides high-level technical expertise in the planning, design supervision, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing (M&P) systems.
The incumbent takes charge of complex utility and fluid networks, focusing specifically on heavy industrial plants, operational complexes, and large-scale administrative building construction projects.
Responsibilities
Mechanical & Plumbing Systems Design & Review:
Prepare and review comprehensive M&P engineering drawings, schematics, load calculations, and layout plans for HVAC systems, domestic water supply, drainage, fire suppression, and ventilation networks.
Ensure absolute design coordination between mechanical/plumbing layouts and structural/electrical frameworks to eliminate on-site clashes.
Specify appropriate pumps, piping materials, plumbing fixtures, chillers, and mechanical equipment in compliance with project standards.
Site Installation & Project Supervision:
Supervise site contractors and installation technicians during the execution of plumbing networks, sanitary drainage, HVAC ducting, and mechanical utility plants.
Oversee pressure testing, leakage testing, flow verification, and hygiene flushing for all water supply and drainage systems.
Monitor day-to-day installation progress to ensure adherence to approved timelines, technical specifications, and quality benchmarks.
Testing, Commissioning, & Maintenance Protocols:
Conduct rigorous pre-commissioning checks, hydrostatic testing, and performance validation across all mechanical and plumbing infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical or plumbing faults, diagnose equipment failures, and implement prompt, safe corrective actions.
Develop preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical and plumbing assets across head office and industrial site facilities.
HSE & Regulatory Compliance:
Enforce strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, environmental protection rules, and statutory building codes.
Ensure proper waste management, safe disposal protocols, and adherence to site safety guidelines during heavy mechanical lifts and pipe-laying operations.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting:
Participate actively in daily toolbox meetings called by site management to align M&P works with overarching project schedules.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of material logs, testing certificates, design adjustments, and progress reports submitted to the General Manager (Technical).
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, with a proven and verifiable background in managing mechanical and plumbing (M&P) works specifically for industrial complexes and large-scale administrative buildings.
Proficiency in mechanical design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or equivalent).
In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, HVAC design, plumbing codes, and industrial utility systems.
Strong project management, problem-solving aptitude, and high safety compliance discipline.
