Key Responsibilities
Support the installation, operation, maintenance and improvement of mechanical equipment used in cocoa processing.
Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on production machinery.
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Maintain pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, compressors, boilers, chilled-water systems and other utilities.
Support equipment alignment, lubrication, vibration monitoring and condition-based maintenance.
Prepare maintenance plans, job cards, service reports and equipment histories.
Participate in shutdown planning and major equipment overhauls.
Monitor spare-parts requirements and support technical procurement.
Work closely with production, utilities, quality and safety teams to minimise downtime.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with food-safety, GMP and HSE requirements.
Support fabrication, piping, welding and mechanical modification projects.
Investigate recurring failures and recommend reliability improvements.
Preferred Technical Exposure
Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:
Food processing or FMCG machinery
Cocoa processing equipment
Hydraulic presses
Roasters, grinders, mills and conveyors
Steam systems and boilers
Chillers and cooling systems
Pumps, compressors and pneumatic systems
Preventive and predictive maintenance
Applicants should possess:
B.Eng., B.Sc. or HND in the relevant engineering discipline.
Minimum of three years' relevant post-qualification experience.
Practical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, food-processing or FMCG environment.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and equipment documentation.
Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Sound understanding of workplace safety and engineering controls.
Ability to prepare clear reports and maintain accurate technical records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends or during planned shutdowns where required.
Professional registration with COREN or membership of a recognised engineering body will be an advantage.
