Responsibilities
Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with approved specifications and purchase orders.
Review and verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Certificates of Conformance (COCs), and other quality documentation.
Ensure proper material identification, marking, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct inspections of metallic and non-metallic materials used in mechanical systems.
Verify material grades, dimensions, heat numbers, and physical conditions.
Monitor material storage, preservation, and handling procedures.
Perform positive material identification (PMI) verification when required.
Witness material testing activities and review laboratory test results.
Inspect piping materials, structural steel, valves, fittings, flanges, fasteners, and pressure-retaining components.
Ensure compliance with approved material specifications, codes, and standards.
Identify material non-conformities and prepare inspection reports and corrective action recommendations.
Participate in audits, quality surveillance, and vendor inspections.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and quality teams regarding material issues.
Maintain inspection records and material traceability documentation.
