Job Summary


The Medical Doctor (General Practitioner) will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients across primary and secondary levels, including diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, minor procedures, and referral coordination. The role requires clinical competence, professionalism, and the ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions within approved clinical guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care


Conduct thorough patient consultations, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
Provide primary care services, including preventive care, acute care, and chronic disease management.
Deliver secondary-level medical care, including management of moderately complex medical conditions.
Perform minor medical and surgical procedures within the scope of general practice and approved facility protocols.
Prescribe medications safely and appropriately in line with national and international clinical guidelines.
Provide emergency assessment and initial stabilization before referral when required.
Request, interpret, and act on laboratory and imaging investigations.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential medical records.
Identify cases requiring specialist referral and initiate timely referrals.
Communicate effectively with specialists, referral hospitals, and diagnostic centres.
Provide follow-up care and continuity after specialist review or discharge.
Adhere to ethical standards and patient safety policies.
Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and continuous medical education.
Support nursing staff and allied health professionals in patient care delivery.
Comply with regulatory requirements, including NHIS and HMO documentation where applicable.
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and SOPs.
Write monthly report
Be able to use statistical data to make informed decision or make suggestion.
Demonstrate computer skills and be able to use our Hospital Management software.


Qualifications & Requirements


MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical institution.
Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Valid Annual Practising Licence.
Minimum of 2 - 5 years post-NYSC clinical experience. Many years of Experience in a district or community hospital is an added advantage.
Demonstrated competence in general medical practice and minor procedures.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
