We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Laboratory Technician to join our diagnostic team. The successful candidate will perform routine laboratory tests, manage specimen collection, and assist in maintaining high standards of clinical accuracy to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Processing: Receive, label, sort, and process biological samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.) according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Clinical Testing: Perform routine tests in hematology, parasitology, microbiology, serology and chemistry using manual and automated analyzers.
Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments like centrifuges and microscopes to minimize downtime.
Quality Control: Run daily standards and controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all results.
Phlebotomy: Collect blood samples from adults and children using safe and aseptic techniques.
Data Management: Accurately enter patient data and results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to biohazard waste disposal, infection control, and ISO 15189 standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited School of Health Technology.
Licensing: Must possess a valid current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Experience: 1 - 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in pipetting, microscopy, and basic computer use (Microsoft Excel and LIMS).
