Constitutional and Statutory Requirements for Appointment:
Pursuant to Section 11(I) of the Landlord and Tenant (Shops, Hotels and Catering Establishments Act CAP 301, a person to be appointed as a Business Premises Rent Tribunal must possess the following qualifications. i. Hold a relevant bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya. ii. Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage. iii. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
