Job Purpose


The Merchandising Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring high standards of product availability, outlet coverage, visibility, merchandising compliance, stock management, route execution, reporting accuracy, SFA usage, trade promotion execution, team productivity, and brand representation. The role holder will provide field leadership, coach merchandisers, monitor performance, resolve execution gaps, and ensure Vert Limited's commercial standards are consistently achieved in the market.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Product Availability


Maintain product availability and zero out-of-stocks on key SKUs.
Drive new outlet listings and track distribution expansion performance across assigned areas.
Identify availability gaps and coordinate timely replenishment with sales teams and outlet staff.
Work closely with the sales team, distributors, and outlet staff to support timely replenishment.


Visibility & Compliance


Ensure full planogram and shelf share compliance against competitors.
Supervise secondary displays and POSM placement.
Conduct compliance audits and monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and visibility.
Ensure EPIC Fruit Snacks are presented attractively, professionally, and consistently across outlets.


Stock Management


Enforce FIFO to reduce expiries and damages.
Track stock variances, damaged stock, slow-moving products, and expiry risks.
Escalate stock variances and work with the merchandisers to improve stock handling and replenishment turnaround time.


Execution Excellence


Monitor daily visit completion rates and route compliance.
Ensure timely submission of reports and photo evidence.
Conduct spot checks and market audits to verify reported field activities.
Ensure all promotional activities, activations, and visibility campaigns are implemented according to company guidelines.
Recommend improvements to route plans, outlet coverage, and execution efficiency.


Team Leadership


Supervise, coach, and evaluate merchandisers on performance.
Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Motivate the merchandising team to achieve assigned KPIs and execution standards.
Manage disciplinary and operational issues in line with company procedures.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and SFA tool usage.
Train team on execution standards, reporting, and route adherence.


Relationship Management


Build strong relationships with store managers, outlet owners, and trade partners.
Resolve outlet complaints and escalations professionally.
Coordinate with distributors, branch teams, and sales teams.
Support merchandisers in handling trade concerns.
Collect feedback from trade partners and consumers.
Communicate company merchandising requirements, promotions, and visibility expectations to outlets.
Represent Vert Limited and the EPIC Fruit Snacks brand professionally at all times.


Data, Reporting & SFA Usage


Ensure 100% use of the company provided SFA usage by all merchandisers.
Validate daily, weekly, and monthly reports submitted by merchandisers for accuracy and timeliness.
Share actionable market insights with management.
Review outlet visits, stock updates, product availability, pricing, competitor activities, photo evidence, and market feedback captured through the SFA tool.
Use SFA data to identify missed outlets, stock-outs, visibility gaps, route gaps, and team performance trends.


Quality and Brand Standards


Maintain attractive shelf presentation and brand-compliant displays.
Conduct brand visibility audits and correct poor presentation or pricing gaps.
Maintain product hygiene and packaging standards.
Ensure correct pricing tags are displayed.
Ensure product packaging is clean, presentable, and free from damage.
Ensure all merchandising activities support a strong and consistent brand image.


Qualifications, Experience and Skills


Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
3 - 5 years in FMCG merchandising, sales, or retail execution.
Supervisory experience in general trade / modern trade is an added advantage
Hands-on experience with Sales Force Automation (SFA) tools and mobile reporting
Strong leadership and field coaching ability
Excellent planning, route management, and attention to detail
High integrity, discipline, and relationship management skills
